Fund Raising Contributions

  • Breast Cancer Foundation – In November 2009 we held a Fund Raising Event at Rydges Port Macquarie which we called “The Tickled Pink Luncheon” where our platform presenter was Mrs. Diana Ryall (previous CEO of Apple Computers Australia). Over 80 attendees laughed along whilst helping us to raise $4,632 for the Hastings / Coffs Harbour Branch of the Breast Cancer Foundation.

  • HeadSpace Port Macquarie and Hastings Mens Shed – In Sept 2013, we held a Fund Raising Event at Rydges Port Macquarie with Dr Shane Oliver as the Platform Speaker in addition to Peter Besseling (our Port Macquarie Hastings Lord Mayor) and speakers from Headspace & Hastings Mens Shed. Also in attendance were Dr David Gillespie (current Federal Member for Lyne) and Mrs Leslie Williams (current State Member for Port Macquarie. Over $5,000 was raised that went to HeadSpace being able to purchase an Event Marquee and Hastings Mens Shed purchasing security doors for their premises (“The Shed”)

  • “Talking ‘Bout My Generation” – In August 2006 we secured the services of an AXA Executive who had developed a Business Presentation on “Psychological Marketing to The X Gen versus The Baby Boomer”. Separate presentations were run for Hastings Business Enterprise Centre (90 attendees) and Customer Care Programme Members (85 attendees). Whilst profiling COMPASS, this was a great contribution back to other local businesses as it provided them stronger marketing insight into consumer psychology.

  • “Mediation is the Answer” – In October 2010, we ran a Business Seminar with Special Guest Presenter Sir Laurence Street (Retired Chief Justice and Lieutenant Governor of NSW), who has since become a World renowned adviser on Mediation & Conciliation. The presentation also included a Parody by the Partners called “An Extraordinary Week in the Life of Julia & Kevin”. The Seminar was to provide businesses in Port Macquarie to have a greater insight into the value of obtaining quality Professional Advice

  • Arrow Bone Marrow Foundation – In 2010, we participated and contributed to the Fund raising event held for this important charity

  • Private Fundraiser - In 2011, some clients lost their son tragically. When we found out they couldn’t afford the burial and tax bills, we held a Private fundraising event and $17.5k was raised. Whilst we could not help their Emotional Chaos, the Financial Chaos & Organisational Chaos attached to this horrible situation was softened.

  • Movember and Beyond Blue Sponsors 2009-2014

  • Swimming Relay For Life (24 hour swim relay), raising just under half the total funds raised, COMPASS contributed as a participant in the swim relay and fundraiser.

  • Westpac Rescue Helicopter – COMPASS are annual sponsors and fundraisers as we greatly recognise the huge contribution WRH adds to our community and even for some of our staff / family members.

  • Club Red Business Challenge – Australian Red Cross Blood Donation “competition”. COMPASS are regular blood donors and this was something different to participate in.
