John is the classic example of someone looking to contribute back to his community, learning from his own life experiences, shaped from the beginning as a baby.
He was born into difficult circumstances having been abandoned at birth, without any strong male role model throughout decades of his early life. It led him into trouble, experimenting with alcohol and drugs, taking a toll on his body and also resulting in numerous altercations with the law. He clawed his way out of this downward spiral and finally made a concerted effort to change, turning his life around.
Looking back at his past he well understands how many men can easily feel isolated, without networks of support. It was this that drove him to develop these simple but effective connections through the ‘Blah Blah Blah Coffee For Blokes’ and the ‘Mens Walks’. These groups support men that are suffering from mental and physical disabilities and are growing throughout Australia. It’s all about connections.
Like many support groups they rely on philanthropy and donations to survive. It's a worthy
cause.
John spoke at our last seminar in May. If you would like to donate to this cause feel free to contact us and we can provide you with their bank details or contact details.
