Customers who are eligible to get one of the following payments as at 2 April 2019, will get a one-off energy assistance payment of $75 for singles and $62.50 for each eligible member of a couple:

ABSTUDY Living Allowance Austudy Double Orphan Pension Farm Household Allowance Newstart Allowance Parenting Payment Partnered Partner Allowance Sickness Allowance Special Benefit Widow Allowance Widow B Pension Wife Pension Youth Allowance Veteran Payment
Customers won’t have to do anything to get the payment. Payments will be made directly into customer bank accounts. Who is affected by this measure? Customers who get one of the payments listed above will get the one-off energy assistance payment.
When will this start and finish? Legislation for this measure was passed 3 April 2019 and payments are expected to be made by 30 June 2019.
