Often we want to help, but we just aren’t sure how to.
I don’t think there would be too many people who would begrudge our farmers at present, with the devastating drought many are suffering. While it is often a case of what you don’t see doesn’t impact you, however thankfully the media seem to have jumped on board and the farmer’s plight is receiving some coverage.
Many of you know I came off a farm originally and took the hard decision more than 20 years ago to forge a new career, despite being a fourth generation farmer. The reason I left was due to ongoing drought in the 1990’s. Given this, I obviously have a soft spot for the current situation and have helped out where I can.
Last week the staff at COMPASS raised some funds and purchased groceries which have gone towards providing some much needed supplies for those in need. While not everyone is in a position to do this, I would really encourage you to take a look at the below link to ABC online and at the bottom of that article are a few ways that you may also be able to help out.
Every little bit helps.
Thank you
Robert
