Wish I'd started when I was younger

Part of our role as financial planners is helping our clients manage their immediate issues, such as cashflow & living expenses on a day by day basis. However it is also just as much about helping identify their goals & dreams for the future, which usually includes the broader family in most cases, i.e. helping the kids.

When starting a new client relationship it is fairly common for us to hear words like “I wish we’d done this years ago”, but of course when we’re in our 20’s, 30’s & 40’s life is too busy and it’s hard to plan for the future, when you’re caught up in the present. We’ve all been there, we were all young once!

The Financial Planning Association has put out some great video’s encouraging the younger generation to “engage” with professionals and seek advice, and sooner rather than later. Take a look at the following short video and if you think it could help someone you know, then please feel free to pass it on.

I’m going to show it to my daughter (she’s 16 next month and has two jobs) because the father & daughter clip towards then end will make her smile.

Have a great day.

Robert
